Entur//Summer Internship at Bekk Consulting
Our project was about collecting and organizing disruption information for Entur’s customer service center. Entur is part of the Norwegian Railway Directorate and has the job of gathering travel information from all transport operators across Norway. We learned that while they are good at sharing travel information with passengers, it was not as easy for the people working at the customer service center to find the information they needed in one place, especially when disruptions happened.
To solve this, our team created a beta site we called “Bærtur.” Here, shift leaders could share updates from the operators so that all agents had access to the same information in one place. The agents could also update each other as new details came in, for example from travelers who were out in the field and saw what was happening.
During these seven weeks, I learned a lot. I got to work closely with developers and take responsibility for the design part of the project. It was my first time working in an interdisciplinary team, which was both exciting and challenging. I also got a good insight into what it’s like to work as a consultant.
