Barnas beste// service design

This project explores how the best interests of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (EMAs) are safeguarded in Norway, focusing on youth aged 15–18. When EMAs arrive, they are assigned a legal representative and live in reception centers that provide daily care.

Responsibilities between actors often overlap, leading to unclear roles, weak coordination, and large differences in follow-up. Long and uncertain waiting times make the situation even more difficult for the youth.

We propose four dashboards showing the perspectives of the EMA, their representative, reception center staff, and the County Governor. The concept illustrates how a shared digital platform could improve collaboration, information flow, and support giving EMAs more clarity and ownership in their asylum process.

This project was done with Andrea Gammelgård, Camilla Schei and Martine Braathen.
